Smudgy Antics Challenge - Sketch It

Hello, all! I am so sorry that I did not have this post up early this morning but I have been exhausted lately. My sleep schedule is irregular now and I completely passed out on the couch this morning after dropping off my son at school. I am sad to announce that this is the last challenge/project I will be completing at Smudgy Antics as a DT member. It was a whole lot of fun while it lasted! I hope that you will all stop in and check out the challenges in the future; they are always fun and outside the box!

Welcome Back!
Thank you to all the participants of last week's challenge. We always love seeing your creations!

This week is a bittersweet week at Smudgy Antics. It is the end of the term which means we will be saying good-bye see ya soon to some of the current members of the team. On February 1st we will have the announcement of the team for the new term. To honor the significance of our last week together as a team, both Smudgy Antics teams A and B will be joining together for this last challenge of the term.

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge. You may use the sketch as is or flip it, rotate it, etc to suit your needs. Your entry doesn't have to fit the sketch perfectly, but it should be clear that your project was derived by the sketch.

Here is the sketch to work with:

You can make a card, a scrap page, an altered canvas, a mixed media piece or household decoration. It doesn't matter as long as it is stamped somewhere and follows the sketch. For a reminder of the rules, check the left sidebar.

Here is my DT example for this sketch:

Smitten Card. Here is a card I created with Smeared Ink digi stamps from the Smitten and Glam Vamp collections. I used some papers that I have been saving up for years. The problem is that I've had them so long, I forgot what I was saving them for! Lol. I cut up some pieces of a bling flourish and added White Opal Liquid Pearls to it. The flowers are from Recollections. And I colored the image with Copics.

Smeared and Smudged January Member Blog Hop

Hello, all! It's another Smeared and Smudged Member Blog Hop Today!

It's that time again! Time for the Smeared and Smudged member blog hop. Our hop will be on January 12, so that gives you until January 10 to sign up . The blog roll will then be posted on the 11th for everyone to add to their post

The theme this month is MESH IT! Interpret this how you'd like. You can use mesh, mesh images together, have a mesh texture...etc. Use your imagination and have fun with it. We can't wait to see what you come up with! Also, don't forget the S&S rule that is has to be stamped somewhere (digi stamps are fine).

Here is the blog roll:

Here is the project I completed for this month's blog hop:

Ooh La La Card. For the Mesh theme of the blog hop, I used Webster's Pages Bloomers ribbon since it has a mesh backing. The digi stamp I used for this is from the Smitten digi set from Smeared Ink. The papers are from my stash as were the alphas and flowers. I added some Stickles to the flowers  to give them some sparkle. I also inked the edges of the image and the paper with Dusty Concord Distress Ink.

A New Year & A Smudgy Antics Challenge

Hello, all! A happy new year to you! I hope everyone is starting their new year happy and healthy. This is my first post for 2012 since it took me longer to recuperate from my family visit this year. Lol. I love my family and my husband's family as well but they can sure drain a person. This year I am happy to report that my new year's resolution has begun on the right track. Every year I resolve to lose weight and get healthy and every year it goes out the window in the first week or so. But this year I started early (during the Thanksgiving holiday) and began a diet that has changed the way I eat and think about food. So up-to-date I've lost 35 lbs and I can truly say that I will reach my goals this year. Well enough about me! Lol. To start the new year and my creative juices flowing, here is a project that I created for the Smudgy Antics Challenge - Recycle Something.

Crabby Love Gift Box. This box was one that came with a variety of buttons and scrap embellies in it. I can't remember the company that it came from since I've had it in my stash for a very long time. The box was originally solid orange with a clear top. I added some Webster's Pages papers in some of the cubbies and a stamped image from Smeared Ink (Crabby Love from the Smitten digi set), which I colored with Copics. I added some liquid pearl flourished to the lid and some little accents to the inside. the flowers on the lid are from my stash, as are the buttons as their centers. I wanted to create something to remind me that warmer times at the beach will come soon enough.

Here is the description of the challenge. You can also see it here, along with the Smeared Ink DT projects.

Weekly Challenge - Recycle Something

Smudgy Antics is going green and we want you to do the same!
We have another challenge for you this week, and we can't wait to see your interpretations of our theme!
Here's a reminder about the rules:

It must be linked by midnight on the following Saturday, Pacific Time. This gives you six days to complete the challenge.

*Your project can be anything (card, scrapbook page, mixed media, altered or 3-D item, etc) as long as it is handmade and stamped somewhere with either a rubber or digital stamp. We have taken into consideration our digital artist fans and will be allowing all-digi projects. Feel free to think outside the box and have fun with your project! We are all about looking at things differently and look forward to the variety of projects and mediums we are sure to see.

***Every entry, no matter what stamped image is used, will now qualify for a prize. Encourage your crafty friends to come play with us!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 12!

Hello, all! It's the final day of the 12 Days of Christmas for Smeared Ink! I can't believe it's already over! It seems like it just started. I wish for all of you to have a lovely holiday season and to spend it with your loved ones. I won't be on for a while since I'll be visiting family after Christmas and into the new year. So here is my last project for the 12 Days!
Photobucket

BLOG ROLL!

A couple of little projects to share with you all:

A DIY Gumball Machine Candy Bowl. I used a clay pot, saucers, and a glass bowl to construct this candy bowl. One of these was given to me quite a few years ago and I always thought what a wonderful idea it was. So here is one I made, painted blue and stamped snowflakes all over. The only thing missing on it is the knob that goes on top of the lid, which I haven't been able to go and buy yet. I filled it with an assortment of Hershey's kisses.

Burlap Tag. The tag is made out of burlap and was stamped with A Very Skelly Christmas stamps and colored with alcohol ink. I am going to add a ribbon to it later today, just didn't want to be late with my post for today.

Again, I wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or whatever you celebrate! ~Hugs~

Hello, all! Today is Day 11 of the 12 Days of Christmas for Smeared Ink! And today I have combined my Day 11 project with a project for the Wicked Christmas Challenge over at Smudgy Antics. The image from Smeared Ink that I used for today's card is one of my favorites; this Santa is one of the coolest I've ever seen!

Weekly Challenge - Wicked Christmas

We have another challenge for you this week, and we KNOW you will love it! Since the holiday is fast approaching we are allowing two weeks for this challenge. Oh...and once again we have tweaked the rules to hopefully inspire more participants.
Here's a reminder about the rules. The new rules will be in red.

*Each Monday morning a new challenge will be posted. It will contain that week's theme and prize information.

*To participate, you must make a project that fits the theme and add it to the post using the Inlinkz linky. It must be linked by midnight on the following Saturday, Pacific Time. This gives you six days to complete the challenge. *For this week's challenge we are allowing 2 weeks so participants can enjoy the holiday and still be able to play along.

*The weekly winner will be chosen by random number and revealed on Sunday. Prizes will vary and may range from a free digi to a coupon to a blog badge.

So let's get to it! Here's this week's info.

The Challenge: Wicked Christmas

We were originally going to have this challenge week's theme "Gothic Christmas" and the following week's theme was going to be "Wicked Santa". Because we are giving 2 weeks for this challenge, we are combining the themes. You may choose either theme to work with or combine the two.

And here is my card for both!

Steampunk Santa Card. Such an amazing Santa image! I love him! I used some The Paper Studio paper, a Echo Park word sticker, some random charms for the middle of the gears, and some Crystal Stickles. The gears were stamped with some foam stamps I made with my Vagabond and the Santa was colored with Copics and Stickles.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 10

Hello, all! We're nearing the end of the 12 Days of Christmas for Smeared Ink and it has been a wonderful experience! I have seen so many fantastic projects from everyone these past days. I've gained so much inspiration! So thank you to all the participants, whether they are Jolly Bloggers or Merry Hoppers, or just popped in real quick to take a peak. This has been a wonderfully fun adventure.

Photobucket
BLOG ROLL!
Here is my project for today! And it's not a Christmas card! Lol. It's a candy wrapper!

For these candy wrappers I just scanned an old coloring book page and made it into a digi stamp. I removed the snowman's hat so I could give him a nice new felt one. I colored him in with Copics and Stickles, cut him out and glued him onto a festive background paper (the size of the candy bar's original wrapper), and wrapped the candy bar with the finished wrapper. I wrapped some felt around his head and made him a snow cap to match his scarf. I've made these two already and have snowmen colored in different colors to make more. These are such cute little gifts and stocking stuffers! I got this idea from a candy bar wrapper I saw on Pinterest but I did not want to download the actual label for printing, so I made my own.
