MAD Tea Party - A Fanciful Twist's 6th Annual Mad Tea Party!

Good day, all! It's Tea Time! I look forward to A Fanciful Twist's annual Mad Tea Party all year long! I am so excited to participate again this year. I just recently moved and have not found all of my Alice in Wonderland goodies, so I concentrated more on the confections than the decor. Come on in and take a seat; have some tea, grab a sandwich or two, some cupcakes, and a slice of cake! There is plenty for you all!

Don't mind the toadstools and pick up a cup. Any cup you choose is fine.

Here are some delectable almond chicken salad sandwiches.

Feeling devilish? Here are some deviled eggs for you.

Would you like some Green Pea Salad? It's delicious!

Mr. Hedgehog has been visiting as well. He loves hiding behind the tea pots as he nibbles on his treats.

Do you prefer iced tea? Here are some chess-shaped ice cubes to cool you and your tea.

So many sweets to choose from! Here are some Banana Peanut Butter Cup cupcakes.

Perhaps you'd also enjoy some Lemon Cream Cheese cupcakes.

We have Vanilla Meringue Cookies as well.

Clean cup, clean cup! Move down!

Oh, these are wonderful Strawberry cupcakes. Please have some!

And of course, what's a Mad Tea Party without a towering cake? This one is Chocolate and Strawberry.

We are so happy to have had you over! Thank you for stopping by!

If you would like to win the Queen of Hearts card above, please follow me and leave a comment. If you are already a follower, let me know in your comment. I will do a random drawing for the winner on July 18th.

See you all at the other tea parties!

Punky Scraps Challenge 50

Hello, all! After a much needed break and a blog hop to get us warmed up again, Punky Scraps challenges have begun again!

Challenge 50 is a photo inspiration challenge. Below is the photo chosen to inspire you all:

And here is the sample I created using the above inspiration photo:

The design of the inspiration photo inspired me to add the reflection of the larger photo at the bottom; to add the splatters, frames and stamping; and to use a kraft paper background. The photos are of the sunset on South Padre Island, TX when my family and I were there to visit.

Supplies: paper is from My Mind's Eye and Graphic 45; Prima flowers; alphas, bling, and stamps from my stash; Tim Holtz flourish stamp; Staz-On ink; and Lindy's Stamp Gang mists in Red Hot Poker Orange and Afternoon Delight Denim; and Tattered Angels mist in Coffee Shop.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 7

For the Smudgy Antics Challenge Post, scroll down.

Hello, all! Day 7 of the 12 Days of Christmas for Smeared Ink! Christmas is speeding towards us and I have so much to do still! Not enough hours in the day. On top of all the Christmas stuff I have to do, I have so many chores and errands to run, too, since my hubby is getting back from Iraq tomorrow! Lots to do and lots to plan! Lol.

So here is the blog roll for the 12 Days of Christmas:

Photobucket
BLOG ROLL!

And here is my project for today. I know today is a Smeared Ink day but I haven't had a chance to create and this card was already finished. ;)

Polar Bear Card. This cute little ice skating bear is a freebie digi stamp from Tiddly Inks. I colored him with Copics and used Echo Park winter paper. The stitching was done with my Sew Easy tool and Stickles were added on the fur lining of his coat and hat. I also added some ribbon and stamped snowflakes.

Smudgy Antics - Dear Heart

Hello, all! Time for another fabulous Smudgy Antics Weekly Challenge! This week's challenge topic is "Dear Heart" and I hope you'll stop in and play along!
Here is the challenge description:

Hello! I wanted to let everyone know there have been some small changes on Smudgy Antics. The changes are highlighted in red below.

Here's a reminder about the rules:

*Each Monday morning a new challenge will be posted. It will contain that week's theme and prize information.

*To participate, you must make a project that fits the theme and add it to the post using the Inlinkz linky. Your link must take us directly to your project on a publicly accessible blog or website, or it will be disqualified - so please make sure you're linking to your actual post. It must be linked by midnight on the following Saturday, Pacific Time. This gives you six days to complete the challenge.

*Your project can be anything (card, scrapbook page, mixed media, altered or 3-D item, etc) as long as it is handmade and stamped somewhere with either a rubber or digital stamp. We have taken into consideration our digital artist fans and will be allowing all-digi projects. Feel free to think outside the box and have fun with your project! We are all about looking at things differently and look forward to the variety of projects and mediums we are sure to see.

*You must use AT LEAST 1 Smeared Ink image on your project. You are allowed to use anything else that you like.

*This rule has changed. To encourage more participants, any stamped image may be used, however only projects using at least one Smeared Ink image will be eligible to win a prize. Encourage your crafty friends to come play with us.

*You can only enter and qualify for a prize if you are, or become, a follower of the blog.
*The weekly winner will be chosen by random number and revealed on Sunday. Prizes will vary and may range from a free digi to a coupon to a blog badge.

The Challenge: Dear Heart

(use or make a heart)
Here is my sample for this challenge:

A Caged Heart Card. For this card I used Smeared Inks' Heavy Metal - Open Corset digital stamp. I stamped flourishes along the borders of the card with some stamps from my stash, cut a heart out with my Cricut Expression, and colored the corset with my Copics. I also ran some red velvet ribbon at the top and the bottom of the card, added flowers from Prima and Recollections, and added a printed out title.

A Little Steamy Blog Hop

Hello, all! Let's have some fun today with Smeared and Smudged' Monthly Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Blog Hop organized by Smeared and Smudged Blog! The theme this month is A Little Steamy. Use images, pieces, or parts that embrace the steampunk genre.

Here is the A Little Steamy Blog Hop - Blog Roll:

Here is what I created for the hop:

A Little Steamy Card. I created this card last night, rather quickly (because to tell the truth, I was out of the house all day and had forgotten about the hop). But I love everything Steampunk, and have loads of products to choose from in my stash. So I looked through all my stamps and realized I had never used this one by Simply Betty Stamps. I colored her with Copics and set her on an inked piece of paper from the DCWV Tattered Time stack. The inks are Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord. The flowers are all from Recollections and the title was printed from my computer.

I hope you will join us in all the steamy fun!

(All posts should be up by 9:00 am Pacific Time)

Day 17, Smudy Antics Challenge & Scraps of Darkness

Hello, all! It's Day 17 of the 31 Days of Halloween! And today is another fun Smudgy Antics Challenge! So I created a layout with my Scraps of Darkness October - All Hallows Eve Kit including a Smeared Ink stamp for today! The Smudgy Antics Weekly Challenge this week is Skull Time! Here is a photo of one of my favorite tv families: The Munsters. Can you guess what other family was a favorite of mine? Lol. You'll be seeing them some time this month, too.

The Munsters Layout. I used my Scraps of Darkness All Hallows Eve kit for this page, including some Pink Paislee Phantom papers, Kaisercraft acetate shapes and rub ons, and some Fancy Pants Oct 31 Witching Hour paper. The skull stamp is from Smeared Ink. I love how gruesome it is compared to the "pretty-ness" of the layout. The trims are from my stash of Websters Pages products. The flowers are Petaloo Color Me Crazy misted with a mixture of Shimmerz Hermit the Frog Mist and Lindy's Stamp Gang Yellow Rose of Texas, and some Petaloo Black flowers. I used Lime Green Stickles for some dots and printed out the title from my computer. I will be entering this page to the Monochrome Challenge at scrapbook.com for the Lime Green week.

Day 11 - 31 Days of Halloween

Hello, all! You know, you gotta love the dollar store! Lol. I don't usually go to dollar stores but every once in a while I will go in there to see what I can find for crafting and this last time I went did not disappoint! I found these awesome little wood shadow boxes in the craft aisle and bought four! I knew I had to use at least one for the 31 Days of Halloween.

Halloween Shadowbox. I painted the outside of this box with Adirondack Pitch Black paint and the inside with Making Memories lime green paint. All the papers, stickers, and stamps are from the Pink Paislee Phantom line. The black flowers are from Recollections and the orange are from Prima. I used Archival Ink for stamping on this.

Day 9 - 31 Days of Halloween

Hello, all! Today I am going to share with you a little home decor project I did for the 31 Days! It's a little paper mache house I got a local craft store. When I saw it, I knew I could create a haunted house with it. I had to restrain myself from buying several of these in different sizes! I think I will but one of those flameless tea lights inside to give it some ambiance.

Haunted House. I used Pink Paislee's Phantom collection to cover the house. The stamps I used (the Beware sign, trees, and bats) are all from my stash. I used Copics to paint the edges and hide some of the imperfections. I added the bats flying out of the chimney for a whimsical touch.

Haunted House. Here is the house at a different angle. I can tell you that I will think twice before trying to cover a rood with paper again! Lol.

Grungy Monday #13

If you're looking for the Mad Tea Party post, it's the one below this one.

Hello, all! Today is Grungy Monday #13 over at Studio L3! I guess 13 is my lucky number because I was chosen by Linda to be a guest designer for this week! Guest designer along with me is Suzanne Bouchard. I can't tell you how excited I am to be doing this! I love all things Tim Holtz! This week's technique uses Tim Holtz's Adirondack Alcohol Inks. Here is a a link to the technique on the Ranger Ink website: Tim Holtz Demos Adirondack Alcohol Inks.

Since I am mainly a scrapbooker, I created a scrapbook page with this technique. Here is my take on this technique. I created the background for my page.

Time layout. These are three photos of my eldest daughter at three points in her life; as a baby, a youngster, and when she graduated high school. Time does fly! I used the Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Ink technique on glossy paper (12 X 12). The alcohol ink colors I used are Bottle, Denim, Sail Boat Blue, Lettuce,Purple Twilight, Eggplant and Silver. I matted the photos with black and turquoise cardstock. And I used various clock and time stamps with Archival Ink to make a pattern. I added some ruffled trim that I used Lavender Fields Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist on, some Webster's Pages velvet ribbon, a Prima rose, a Petaloo flower, Thickers in Lullaby, and a Tim Holtz clock and game spinners.

Here is a close up of the background with the flower cluster and title.

Monochromatic Monday 4-18-2011

Hello, all! I can't stay long but wanted to drop off my Monochromatic page for today. I have a lot of assignments for my class and not much time to finish them! This week's color is Lilac Bush Purple with the twist of adding as many butterflies as you can.

Cuteness layout. This is a photo of my youngest daughter with our dog, Attila, when he was a puppy. He was such a darling little thing! To get as many butterflies as I could on this page, I stamped the background full of them then cut some in various sizes to glue on. I also stitched some flowers onto the paper using my Bazzill In Stitch'z templates and some purple embroidery floss. The flowers are Prima and 7 Gypsies (Thanks to Pat aka Gentlewood Farms for those!).
