Simply B Stamps Showcase ~Patriotic Betty~

Hello, everyone! I have a wonderful image to show off today for this SBS Showcase. She's full of patriotism and such a bombshell. Patriotic Betty is such a perfect pin up!

Here she is on a card I made. I know it's early for 4th of July projects but she just lends herself for this type of card!

Happy 4th of July card. I used Echo Park 4th of July papers and stickers for this card. The image was colored with Copics and highlighted with a white opaque pen.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope to see you all again soon!

SBS Showcase ~Persephone Lola

Hi, everybody! I have my last showcase of the month to share with you! One more from the Gods in Love Collection! This one is such a sweet image.

I give you Persephone Lola:

I had to put this sweet little image on a container for sweets! I created this pillbox with a template and papers from Echo Park. I inked the edges with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink, added Flamingo and Black Liquid Pearls, and some pink lace. I then added all the flowers. The image is colored with Copics.

Make sure to stop by the SBS Blog to check out more showcases this month! I hope to see you all for next month's showcases! Thanks for stopping by!

13 Days of Halloween - Day 11!

Hello, all! Day 11 of the 13 Days of Halloween is here! And today's challenge is as follows:

Getting closer to the end. Halloween is nearly here! I am beyond excited! My favorite Halloween dessert is a Carmel apple, maybe Candied Apple, but a sweet one non the less. I usually put out a large range of sweets and Carmel and Candied Apples are a must!

Now onto the "sweets"

Candy Corn or Carmel Apples? Use either one of these color combos: Orange, Yellow, and white or Carmel and Lime Green only... black is allowed as a base.

So here is my creation using the Caramel Apples color scheme (I hate candy corn, LOL!):
Demon Card. This is Druscilla the Demon; very lovely for a demon I think. I used some Echo Park Chillingsworth papers, a flower from my stash, Copics to color the image, and liquid pearls for the flourish.

This is my creation using spiders and cobwebs!

Scrap Vamp Sign. I created a sign to go on my craft room door. I used my favorite colors and Spiderella from Simply B Stamps. Isn't she so cool?! The papers are a combination of Echo Park and DCWV. The flourished are liquid pearls and craft plastic, and the alphas are from Thickers. The webs are cut from cardstock using my Cricut. And the black widow spider is also made of liquid pearls. The image was colored with Copics.

Here is a close up!

You have until October 16th at 6:00pm to upload your webbed creations, have fun spinning!

Punky Scraps Challenge 48 ~ Picky! Picky!

Hello, all! This post is a couple of days late and I am very sorry for it. Life's little interruptions are always unexpected and I've had my share of them lately. But I wanted to make sure I did not miss even one of my DT assignments, so I stuck it through until I completed this little birthday card for the Punky Scraps Challenge 48.

Every month one of the DT's each choose something for the Get Picky Challenge. This month's "Get Picky" picks are:
Amy - Anything brown
Nat - use 5 different patterned papers
Elin - use splashes of paint
Mandy - 5 lines of journaling
Cheryl - Tulle/Mesh/Burlap
Sara - Butterflies
Kim - Denim

Birthday Card. Out of the Get Picky picks, I used brown, 5 different patterned papers (from Echo Park's This & That Charming Collection), splashes of paint, burlap, and denim (I cheated and colored the little guys pants a denim color). The stamp is from The Greeting Farm and colored with Copics.

The alphas are from Echo Park as well.

Whatever Wednesday 4-20-2011

Hello, all! I have to laugh at myself today because I completed not one, but two, layouts for challenges that won't count in those challenges because of some mistakes I made! Lol! Okay, you know that each challenge has its own set of criteria and if you don't follow those you can't enter a layout so here are my two flubs.

Sketchy Thursdays Sketch for 4-14-2011.

Duck Hunter Layout. This page is based on the Sketchy Thursdays Sketch for 4-14-2011. I decided to do a one page layout instead of a 2 pager. I loved how the bigger picture was on one side with the other photos making a row that lined up with it. I used Echo Park A Walk in the Park papers. I also used some green rik rak from one of my SOD kits, some yellow vinyl Thickers, my Cricut to cut out the grass and duck. I originally created this layout for the Punky Scraps Blog Challenge but their criteria for the challenge was using green, orange, and yellow with only one patterned paper. I forgot about that little detail! Lol!

Punky Scraps Challenge 13 Sketch.

So 80's Layout. This layout was for the Colour Challenge at scrapbook.com which was to use Neon colors and an optional white background. Well, I didn't know that black was not allowed! Lol! The page is based on the Punky Scraps Sketch for Challenge 13. I used some American Crafts Teen paper, Thickers, and some awesome neon resin flowers I bought at Michael's.

Well, the good thing is each layout was meant for two different challenges and so they are still good for one each! And I can always look at it as getting pages done!

Saturday Steampunk 4-2-2011

Hello, all! I have a few pages to share with you today! Starting off with a steampunky page that will be an example at my Steampunk Challenge at scrapbook.com. Then I have a few more to share that are based on sketches (a couple of which did not make deadline since I've caring for my son, who caught strep throat). So here we go:
April Showers layout. This is a page I created as an example for my Steampunk Challenge. The topic this month is April Showers. The flowers in the claw foot tub are photos of the roses I have in my front garden. I used basic textured green cardstock for the base and distressed the edges and stained them with Distress Stain in Vintage Photo. The floral paper is from Tim Holtz's Lost and Found paper pack. The pipes, tub, and shower head are all images from Internet. The title is made up of two styles of Thickers.

April Showers Close Up 1. I used some rhinestones and Glossy Accents on the flowers and out of the shower to simulate water. I also used various stamps with Vintage Photo and Forest Moss Distress Inks.

April Showers Close Up 2. Here  close up of the shower head and the water droplets coming from it.

Sketch #093 from Twisted Sketches from 3-24-2011. The twist was "swirl," any way.

Maria layout. I completed this page using the Twisted Sketches Sketch #093 and for the Grungey Monday Challenge at Studio L3. This page was inspired by Tim Holtz's 2008 #10 Tag. I used a Tattered Angels Glimmer Screen as a mask, Fired Brick, Vintage Photo, and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks, Grungeboard flourishes, Prima Symphony Flowers, Lindy's Stamp Gang Gold Embossing Power, Forever Red Perfect Pearl Mist, Thickers, and a page from my DCWV Immortal Love stack (music paper).

The Color Room Palette #51.

Color Riot layout. This is not my typical style but I thought all the paint splatters were fitting. These are all photos of the colors of our house when we first bought it. All but a few were painted over. I used the sketch from The Color Room that went with the palette and used plenty of paint and Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, Broken China, and Fired Brick. I wet distressed all the paper squares and circle.

Pages in Time Blog Thursday Sketch 3-24- 2011.

Playground layout. This was based on the Pages in Time Blog Thursday Sketch for 3-24-2011. I used Echo Park papers and stickers for this. The photos are of my son playing at the park's playground. I am loving Echo Park papers more and more! I inked the edges of the papers with Distress Inks in Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans, and Spiced Marmalade.
