13 Days of Halloween - Day 11!

Hello, all! Day 11 of the 13 Days of Halloween is here! And today's challenge is as follows:

Getting closer to the end. Halloween is nearly here! I am beyond excited! My favorite Halloween dessert is a Carmel apple, maybe Candied Apple, but a sweet one non the less. I usually put out a large range of sweets and Carmel and Candied Apples are a must!

Now onto the "sweets"

Candy Corn or Carmel Apples? Use either one of these color combos: Orange, Yellow, and white or Carmel and Lime Green only... black is allowed as a base.

So here is my creation using the Caramel Apples color scheme (I hate candy corn, LOL!):
Demon Card. This is Druscilla the Demon; very lovely for a demon I think. I used some Echo Park Chillingsworth papers, a flower from my stash, Copics to color the image, and liquid pearls for the flourish.

Simply Challenged Challenges - Aug 7 - Teen Birthday!

Hello, all! Today is the first Simply Challenged Challenge for the month of August.

It's time for another challenge hosted by one of the design team members and it's muah's turn! :D This is Barbara and I have selected a theme that fills a much needed gap in my card selection. What is that you say? Well... Teen Birthdays!! Specifically I need boy teen cards but for the challenge you can make any teen birthday cards!!

Please visit the SCC Blog for details, DT inspiration, and to participate!

This is my sample for this week's challenge:

Happy Birthday, Man.... Card. This card is all teen boy with the gears and metal plate print. The stamp is Emo Christian Back 2 School from Simply B Stamps. He reminds me of my teen daughters with their iPod, cell phone, or other gadget in their hands, and that disinterested look on his face! Lol.

Supplies: papers from my stash, cardstock, and Copics.

Hello, all! Time for the second release of Simply B Stamps for Memorial Day weekend! Now yesterday's release was cute and outdoorsy but today's is elegant and steamy! Today's release shows some of the fabulous stamps from the new Steampunk Classic Collection #2. You can see some creations made with these stamps over at Simply Challenged Challenges Blog.

This is the card I came up with for this release:

Today I Wish You A Day of Ordinary Miracles Card. I created this card using the Lavinia Outing stamp. The background was created with Echo Park's Victoria Gardens Collection of papers, some Petaloo flowers and flowers from Wild Orchids Crafts. The flourishes are from My Mind's Eye and I used some Distress Inks in Antique Linen, Old Paper, Worn Lipstick, and Evergreen Bough to distress the edges. I used the below Copics to color in the image.

Let's Get Sketchy!

Hello, all! I just found out about a new sketch challenge blog that I think is going to be a lot of fun. They are looking for DT for their design team and their sketch design team. If you're insterested in applying, just like I am. Here are the details and the link to the blog:

Let's Get Sketchy

Hello everyone and welcome to Lets Get Sketchy, a brand new sketch site! As scrappers we all LOVE sketches, it takes a lot of the pain out of scrapping! So I have decided to create a sketch site for that purpose and need your help.

To get started I am looking for a few talented and creative scrappers to be on my design team. If you like sketches then this is the site for you! I am looking for a design team AND and sketch team. Your terms would run March 1st through Sept. 1st. The design team would be asked to complete 2 layouts per month from a given sketch and the sketch team would only be asked to create newly sketches for Lets Get Sketchy.

If you are interested and would like to be considered for a position then here is what you need to do:

1. Create a layout from the sketch below

2. Post about the DT call on your blog along with your layout from the sketch

3. Leave a comment below telling me that you would like to be considered for a position and which position you are applying for. Make sure you include the link to your blog where your layout is and your email address.

4. Become a new follower and spread the word about the sketch blog!

No previous DT experience needed to apply. Call will be open until Feb. 13th and announcement made Feb 14th. The first challenge will go live March 1st!

I can't wait to see what you come up with! International members ARE welcome to apply!

Call sketch:

*What do we ask of our Designers?
Two projects per month – our challenges go live the 1st and 15th of each month.
Promote Let’s Get Sketchy wherever possible, for example on your personal blog, online communities.
Commit to a six month term with the possibility of extending this for another term.
Leave comments on all challenge entries <- this is super important and will be monitored
**What do our Designers get in return?
The gratification of showcasing your talent for all to see and be on the ground breaking floor of a new sketch site. Designers will have a permanent link to their blog (or homepage) on our site.

Here is what I created with the sketch above:

Steampunk Valentine (7 X 7). I created this using the Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante Collection and a steampunk rubber stamp from Simply B Stamps. The flourishes are handmade with acetate and liquid pearls and I added stickles to the roses for some glimmer. The image is colored with Copics and I also added some steampunk stickers from Jolee's. The sentiment reads "You're the STEAM to my LOCAMOTIVE."

Steampunk Valentine with matching envelope. I used the same paper collection from Graphic 45 to create a matching envelope for this large card/layout. I chose this collection because it went with C.S.I case file #4 and to fit into my Steampunk Challenge over at scrapbook.com.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 11 & A Wicked Christmas

Hello, all! Today is Day 11 of the 12 Days of Christmas for Smeared Ink! And today I have combined my Day 11 project with a project for the Wicked Christmas Challenge over at Smudgy Antics. The image from Smeared Ink that I used for today's card is one of my favorites; this Santa is one of the coolest I've ever seen!

BLOG ROLL!

The Wicked Christmas Challenge is this:

Weekly Challenge - Wicked Christmas

We have another challenge for you this week, and we KNOW you will love it! Since the holiday is fast approaching we are allowing two weeks for this challenge. Oh...and once again we have tweaked the rules to hopefully inspire more participants.
Here's a reminder about the rules. The new rules will be in red.

*Each Monday morning a new challenge will be posted. It will contain that week's theme and prize information.

*To participate, you must make a project that fits the theme and add it to the post using the Inlinkz linky. Your link must take us directly to your project on a publicly accessible blog or website, or it will be disqualified - so please make sure you're linking to your actual post. It must be linked by midnight on the following Saturday, Pacific Time. This gives you six days to complete the challenge. *For this week's challenge we are allowing 2 weeks so participants can enjoy the holiday and still be able to play along.

*Your project can be anything (card, scrapbook page, mixed media, altered or 3-D item, etc) as long as it is handmade and stamped somewhere with either a rubber or digital stamp. We have taken into consideration our digital artist fans and will be allowing all-digi projects. Feel free to think outside the box and have fun with your project! We are all about looking at things differently and look forward to the variety of projects and mediums we are sure to see.

***Every entry, no matter what stamped image is used, will now qualify for a prize. Encourage your crafty friends to come play with us!

*You may use any stamped image, however only projects using at least one Smeared Ink image will be eligible to win placement in the "Top Three".

*You can only enter and qualify for a prize if you are, or become, a follower of the blog. While you're at it, why not visit the forum as well for more challenges?

*The weekly winner will be chosen by random number and revealed on Sunday. Prizes will vary and may range from a free digi to a coupon to a blog badge.

So let's get to it! Here's this week's info.

The Challenge: Wicked Christmas

We were originally going to have this challenge week's theme "Gothic Christmas" and the following week's theme was going to be "Wicked Santa". Because we are giving 2 weeks for this challenge, we are combining the themes. You may choose either theme to work with or combine the two.

And here is my card for both!

Steampunk Santa Card. Such an amazing Santa image! I love him! I used some The Paper Studio paper, a Echo Park word sticker, some random charms for the middle of the gears, and some Crystal Stickles. The gears were stamped with some foam stamps I made with my Vagabond and the Santa was colored with Copics and Stickles.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 8

Hello, all! Day 8 of the 12 Days of Christmas for Smeared Ink! Now these examples are just quickie cards because my hubby just got back from Iraq yesterday afternoon and I have been busy preparing for his arrival that I have not had too much time to create. But these two cards are cute, even if they are simple.
