Hello, all! Halloween is nearing. Less than a week and the ghoulish gala shall begin! It's the ninth day of the 13 Days of Halloween over at the Simply Betty Stamps Blog! The 13 Days of Halloween are an annual celebration at SBS throughout the month of October full of challenges, prizes, and surprises! So stop by and join in!

The ninth challenge of Halloween is to use Black, Green, and Red Splatters! Use mists, paints, glitter glue; whatever gives a good SPLAT to your creations!

Check out the Simply B Stamps blog for all the fun details!

This is my project for this challenge:

This is my splatter card. I used Abigail Larson's image,  Mr. Gibbs Zombie Pirate, which can be purchased at SBS. I colored the image with Copics and used Queen of Hearts Red and Midnight Rendezvous Black mists from Lindy's Stamp Gang; along with Shimmerz Hermit the Frog mist.

It's the 13 Days of Halloween! ~Day 1~

Hello, everyone! It's finally that time of year again when we Halloween fanatics get in gear for our favorite month! OCTOBER! All the excitement leading, of course, to one of the most awesome holidays ever! HALLOWEEN!

And to celebrate this fabulously spooky time, Simply B Stamps is having the 13 Days of Halloween! Thirteen days throughout the month of October full of challenges, prizes, and surprises!

The first day of Halloween is full of creepy visuals. The first challenge is to create your very own creepy background. You can use mists, inks, stencils, embossing folders, and anything else you can think of to create a background for your project.

Check out the Simply B Stamps blog for all the fun details!

Here is the project I created with my creepy background:

I used the Steampunk Little Witch image for this project, which I will be turning into an journal cover. I started this background with light gray textured cardstock, misted it with Lindy's Stamp Gang mists (Afternoon Delight Denim, Cattail Copper Brown, Witch's Potion Purple, Ponderosa Pines Olive), then used the Tim Holtz Flourish stamp with Embossing Ink and clear embossing powder. I then used Distress Inks in various colors over the entire paper. I covered the embossed pieces with newspaper and ironed over it to get the embossing powder off. I then inked more on the paper, splattered it with water, and used a cobweb stamp and embossing powders from Lindy's in Terra Cotta Plum and King Midas Gold. I used Black and Gold Adirondack Paint Dabbers on the edges then affixed the image of the Little Witch (which is colored in Copics) to the cover.

Make sure to check out the challenges, fun, and other DT projects over at the SBS Blog! And check back on the 5th for the next 13 Days of Halloween challenge!

Creative Creations Challenge! ~Bingo~

Hello, everybody! I have a fun challenge for you from Creative Creations Challenges today! It's a Bingo challenge! Pick any three in a row to get Bingo and enter the challenge!

The sponsor for this fantastic challenge is Digital Delights by Louby Loo!

Below is the Bingo card. Be sure to check out the full details at the CCC Blog.

Any three in a row will do! I went all out and did a full Bingo card! I used every square on the card to create my project. Take a look!

DIY Door Hanger. I used some lace (colored with Lindy's Stamp Gang Cattail Copper Brown mist), the DIY sentiment, a couple of different ribbons to hang it from, flowers colored with LSG Cattail Copper Brown and Tibetan Poppy Teal, and an image I cut out of some Tim Holtz kraft cardstock,. I distressed the tag with some Walnut Stain and Broken China Distress Inks, and used some lace with pearls (colored with Lindy's Stamp Gang Tibetan Poppy Teal), and a couple of kraft cardstocks. I also made something other than a card. So that about covers it! Lol.

This challenge was a lot of fun and I hope that you'll stop by Creative Creations Challenges to join in!

Making A Splash ~ Punky Scraps Challenge #46

Hello, all! I have missed you! I've been dealing with a loss in my family and it's taken me about a month to even begin getting back to normal. I have not scrapped in all this time, which is the most I have ever gone without scrapping since I began the hobby. I am glad to say that I was happy to see the Punky Scraps inspiration photo for this month because I was instantly inspired to create the following page. Thank goodness, I say!

Punky Scraps Challenge #46

Making A Splash Layout. This is my cousin's beautiful daughter again. Here she is competing in a pageant in the swimsuit portion. When I saw the inspiration photo of the challenge, I immediately thought of tropical colors and flourishes. And I knew this picture would be perfect for a theme that included them. The paper is from The Paper Studio, the flowers from Prima misted with some Lindy's Stamp Gang mists, the alphas are from Thickers, and the flourishes were handmade by me with liquid pearls and craft plastic.

Punky Scraps - Sketchy Sketch!

Hello, all! Time for another challenge over at Punky Scraps! This time the challenge is using a sketch by Nat.

We have said goodbye to Camilla from sketch designing as she has now gone back to work!! Booo, but we will miss you :)

So, this months sketch comes from me and here it is:

Here is what I created using this sketch:

I loved this sketch! It was so much fun to work with. The mustache on the sketch made me want to use some papers from my stash from Echo Park that had mustaches on them and a photo of my BFF's husband when he tried to grow a mustache while in Iraq. My BFF and I thought it was funny and I decided to commemorate it in a scrap page. I used mists from Lindy's Stamp Gang in red, brown, and blue and made rosettes for the corners with my Vagabond and rosette die, then I added buttons from my stash.

Bird Watching & Happy Birthday to Me!

Hello, all! Today is my birthday! I'm 34 years old today! And I have some wonderful news to share! I have been chosen to guest design for Punky Scraps for the month of July! I've been a follower of Punky Scraps for a while now; ever since I found them and saw what fun challenges they hosted and the inspirational projects they share! Today is the first time I am sharing a layout for Punky Scraps. Punky Scraps is hosting Challenge #21, which is to use tissue paper on your pages. Here is my take on this challenge.

Bird Watching layout. The photo is of two of my cats. They always rushed to the back door to look out at the birds that would stop by and eat at my birdfeeder. The first step I took for this page was to decide how I wanted to use tissue paper on my page. I had left over tissue paper from gift wrapping and so I decided to fold different colors of it a few times and run them through my Vagabond. I used my Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and put about 7 layers of tissue paper for each flower. I stuck the layers together with brads. I added some stitched flourishes and layers of papers from K and Company's Lofty Nest Collection.

Bird Watching Close Up 1. For the chipboard birds and cage, I decoupaged some chipboard (an old cereal box) using Modge Podge and white tissue paper. I misted the piece of chipboard with some of the same mists I used for the flowers (listed below) and I let it dry. I then ran the piece through my Vagabond with the Tim Holtz Caged Bird Sizzix die. I added rhinestones, liquid pearls, and pearl embellishments as well.

Bird Watching Close Up 2. I misted the flowers with various mists from Lindy's Stamp Gang. These mists are phenomenal! I used Tibetan Poppy Teal, Witch's Potion Purple, Alpine Ice Rose, Yellow Rose of Texas, and Ponderosa Pines Olive Starburst Mists.
