It's a SBS Release! ~School Teens Part 3~

Hello, everyone! Have you been checking out the release projects from all the other SBS DT members? I hope you have because I wouldn't want you to miss out on all the gorgeous creations!

I have the last of my creations from the School Teens line to show you today! I hope you like them!

Definitely Weird Science! card. This is Chris the Science Guy and I think he may have to be careful not to blow up the science lab on his first day!

Take A Step in the Right Direction card. This is Get Going Lola and I don't think she appreciated the push in the right direction!

I'm Here... What More Do You Want? card. This is Christian Locker Mess. Hmmm... I think he needs to clean his locker out!

You're So Picturesque card. This is Betty Arty Mess. She is just a ball of creativity!
Make sure you go by the Simply B Stamps Blog for the next few days to see what else the DT girls have to show you!

Punky Scraps Challenge 51

Hello, all! It's Challenge 51 time at Punky Scraps! This challenge is another inspiration photo challenge and a get picky. I hope you'll come check it out and join in the fun!

Challenge 51:

The last challenge of this month:
1. Use a song title as your subtitle.
2. use 3 staples
3. use masking tape
4. stamp directly onto your paper
5. use a punch - any punch, even a hole punch
6. be inspired by this picture of Bob Dylan

This is what I came up with for this challenge!

Big Time Summer LO. These are photos of me and my daughter with the guys from Big Time Rush as a concert we attended last month. They are a bunch of cuties! I was inspired by the photo's color scheme and went all out with my mists and some paint. The staples on my layout are faux staples (actually punched out of paper), and the Superstar rub on at the bottom is actually one of BTR's song titles. The only thing that I didn't do from the list was to use masking tape! What do you think?

I hope this challenge inspires you to create and that you decide to participate in the challenge!

Punky Scraps Challenge 33

Hello, all! Time for another challenge over at Punky Scraps! I only participate every other month over there as part of the DT but let me tell you, if you want inspiration and a chance to win great prizes, go on over and participate in the challenges! There are usually three challenges a month and all of them are so much fun! Here is a description of Challenge 33:

Hello all and welcome to November on the Punky Scraps blog. For the first challenge of the month, we have two pieces of inspiration for you this week!
First of all, a quote which you can use in full or interpret in your own way:

And then this photo (don't you just love the splashes of colour against the dark background?)

Here is what I created using the two inspiration pieces:

Forget & Move On Layout. The quote above made me think about how sometimes I over think and worry about things that I cannot change. I think I need to remember that sometimes I will just have to forget about those pieces and move on with my life. The papers are from DCWV's Colorful Life 8 X 8 paper stack. I cut four pages into 6 X 6 squares and untied them on top of some cardstock. Then I splattered and stamped paints on it, added a few stars, and some TH fragments stippled with Alcohol inks. The alphas are chipboard alphas that I had in my stash. I then cut up some of the photo to represent pieces that I need to leave behind.

To check out the other DT entries, just pop on over to Punky Scraps!

Saturday Steampunk 3-19-2011

Hello, all! Here we are on another Steampunk Saturday! I am a huge Nathan Fillion fan. I watch Castle every Monday and I loved Firefly. Wish the networks would bring it back! The Science Network is actually airing reruns of it, so at least that is a start! Lol! Then Nathan Fillion was featured on this week's Entertainment Weekly cover and I was inspired to do a page about that awesome, amazing show. I watched a couple of episodes to get inspired and noticed the connection of steampunk to the show. The aesthetic of the show is a cross between old westerns and space travel. So here is my page dedicated to one of my favorite television shows of all time! Firefly!

Firefly layout. I found this photo on the Internet and I loved the panoramic look to it so I used it for this page. The papers are from the Tim Holtz Lost and Found paper stack. I used my Cricut Expression and the Indie Art cartridge to cut out the gears. I misted the background with Lindy's Stamp Gang Burnt Umber Moon Shadow Mist. The stars are stamped on with a star stamp and Adirondack Heirloom Gold paint dabber. The dots are Heirloom Gold and Pearl paint.

I also made some gears using a mold I made and UTEE in platinum and bronze. Here is a link to my tutorial on how to make your own embellishments with UTEE: http://scrapsofdarkness.com/TutorialUTEEembel.html.
