It's a SBS Release! ~Back to School~

Hello, all! It's time to show off a new release from Simply B Stamps! This one is all about getting the kiddos back to school! I know, as a mom, we love our kids, but it is so nice when we can get "me" time back for a while.... Lol. So here come the School Teens!

The releases for Simply B Stamps are going to work a little differently from now on: Each of the DT members will show one creation with a designated stamp on release day. Every day following release day will bring about a showcase from an individual DT member, which will include some more of the stamps in the collection until all of us have had a turn in showing all of our creations. I'm thinking this will draw out the fun of release day!

Here is my creation with Lunch Break Miller! (I happen to agree with him: lunch was my favorite subject in school, Lol)
.
My Favorite Subject... Lunch! card. This is Lunch Break Miller. He looks ready to devour that gigantic burger!

Here are the links to everyone else's blogs, so you can check out their projects!

Secret Release Sneak Peek Blog Hop Day 2!

Hello, everyone! It's time for the sneak peek of the second image in the Secret Release for Simply B Stamps! Whoo Hoo! The digis of these were only available for the secret release but these images will be available in rubber on the 12th!

Today, we have Little Dark Homemaker!

Mon Cher (My Love) Card. This amazingly gorgeous lady is Little Dark Homemaker! She is the perfect Morticia Addams to me! I love it! I even tried to giver her that shadowing they always did on Morticia in the movies across her eyes (don't know if you can see it all that well in this pic). The papers are from Echo Park and the DCWV Immortal Love stack. I am sorry that the picture of this isn't the best.

You should be coming from Irene's Blog: http://www.irenescardcreations.blogspot.com/

The next blog is Louise's Blog: http://louisescraftycards.blogspot.co.uk/

The blog hop starts at the Simply Betty Stamps Blog: http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/

Scraps of Darkness July Release & 12 Layouts of Alice #5 & Punky Scraps Challenge 22

Hello, all! It's the 15th of the month today and you know what that means! The release of this month's Scraps of Darkness Kit. This month's kit takes us to an exotic destination and is called Marrakesh Express. The kit is full of Christine Adolph papers and rich jewel tones. The kit is filled with luscious colors and textures. It will certainly inspire creative pages. The second layout that I completed for this release is also number 5 in my 12 Layouts of Alice series (I know it's taking me a long time to finish these up but I have a lot more on my plate this year than I did last year). Here is Marrakesh Express, including all of the optional add-ons and this month's sketch:

Marrakesh Express Romance Add On.

Marrakesh Express Sketch by Suepup aka Charlotte.

Natural Beauty. Here is my take on July's Scraps of Darkness Sketch. This photo is one I was lucky enough to shoot from my backyard. I love the way the sunset plays off the shadows of the tree branches. Everything but the Thickers title, gold embossing, and the liquid pearls are from the Marrakesh Express Kit.

Natural Beauty Close Up 1. This is a close up of what will be my journaling spot on this layout. I wanted to show how the liquid pearls look close up.

Natural Beauty Close Up 2. Here is a close up of some of the gold embossing I did on the background paper with Lindy's Stamp Gang gold embossing powder.

Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas Tag #5.

2 Sides 2 Everything - 12 Layouts of Alice #5. When I saw these exotic papers the Caterpillar's Hookah came to mind. So I used the Caterpillar for my inspiration for this page. I used the Sparkling H2O watercolors from the Color Add On to add color to a stamp that I used on a die cut tag. I used Distress Inks in Dusty Concord and Broken China. I also used some Ranger Gold Embossing Powder on the edges of the page and on the numerals. The die cut shape behind the photos and the title letters are grunge board coated with Broken China Distress Crackle Paint. The photos are of my dog before and after he had a run in with a major amount of burrs and had to be shaved.

The leaves are covered in Lime Green Stickles and the tag is edged with Adirondack Gold Paint.

Paradise Found Layout. This page was inspired by the beach. I tried to simulate the sand, water, and sun with the shapes I cut out of the Marrakesh Express Kit papers. I also added some Thickers and Liquid Pearls to this page. I fussy cut some flowers and the bottom border, and used my Cricut Expression and the Mother's Day Bouquet Cartridge to cut out the sun.

Punky Scraps Challenge 22: Use the above sketch.

Spice of Life Layout. Okay, I went a little crazy with the stitching on this one! Lol! I even stitched the title. I created this page with the Scraps of Darkness Marrakesh Express July Kit and using the sketch for Punk Scraps Challenge #22. This has to be my favorite paper from this kit! The photos are of my kids playing around. I host a challenge over at Scraps of Darkness  called the Darkest Side Challenge and this month the topic is to scrap what puts spice in your life. My family are what do it for me!

~*~Scraps of Darkness May Reveal~*~

Hello, all. First of all, let me say how sorry I am that I have not been around for the past couple of weeks. I've been going through a tough time with home and school, and have not been myself lately (I didn't even scrap for the longest time, if you can believe it!). I think I am starting to get back to normal, so that is a relief. I have decided during this time that my blog posting format is a bit too much for me so I will leave off of posting Monochromatic Monday, Tea Time Tuesday, Whatever Wednesday, and Steampunk Saturday on a regular basis. I will post on this blog in a more random manner, at least until I can get on a better schedule. Thank you for your understanding.

Okay, now on to the reveal! May's kit from Scraps of Darkness is called Now and Zen and full of gorgeous Asian-inspired pattern papers, bamboo sticks, miniature fans and parasols, and a lovely array of rub-ons and chipboard!

Now and Zen Scraps of Darkness May Kit.

Eva Layout. This is my take on the May Scraps of Darkness Sketch created by Charlotte aka Suepup. The photo is of my BFF, Eva. When I saw these papers I immediately thought of her since she is of Japanese descent. She is one of the most beautiful people I know as well and so it seem fitting to scrap her picture. The fans were my favorite pieces to work with from this kit because they are so unique and fun! I misted them with a variety of colors: Worn Lipstick Distress Re-inker, and Witch's Potion Purple and Delphinium Turquoise Mists by Lindy's Stamp Gang, then stamped a design with Jet Black Archival Ink. The flowers were cut out of cardstock with my Cricut Expression and the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge. The flower centers are some pearl embellishments from the kit.  The birds and bamboo are also from the kit. The birdcage is from a past SOD kit and the title letters were printed out from my computer and covered in Purple Stickles.

Close Up of one fan from Eva Layout.

Yum Yum Layout. For this page, I used photos of one of my favorite foods: the Cream Cheese Sushi Roll. I thought of using these photos because of the tea set on the paper. I used a variety of flowers, jeweled chopsticks, pearl embellishments, and chipboard from the Scraps of Darkness May Kit for this page. I also used Purple Stickles, one handmade flower, and purple cardstock from the kit to mat the photos.

Close Up of Yum Yum Layout.

Lotus Blossom Layout. For this page, I decided to use a photo of the tattoo on my BFF's back which is a Lotus Blossom. The tattoo has special meaning for her and I think it is a beautiful piece. I fussy cut some of the May kit's papers and used Witch's Potion Purple Mist from Lindy's Stamp Gang and Tattered Angels Lavender Fields (from my stash) to color the birds and flowers purple. I also used some Dusty Concord Distress Ink to make one of the papers more purple. The chipboard letters and scroll frame are from the May kit as well.

Geisha Layout. I had seen this photo on the Internet before and thought it was breathtaking and wanted to use it for these papers. The only problem was that I wanted to use red paper and there was none in the kit. BUT there was a beautiful sheet of pink paper... so I took that and painted over it with Scarlet Glimmer Mist and paired it up with some black cardstock from the kit that I stamped and embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Gold Embossing Powder and Distress Ink Embossing Ink. The flowers are a combination of cut outs using my Cricut Expression and some Petaloo flowers from my May kit. The metal charm came in the May kit as well. I just added the fan pieces to it. The gold fan was originally white but I colored it with embossing powder and covered it with rub-ons and brads. The Thickers title letters are from my stash. The bamboo leaves are cut from the green cardstock from the May kit and colored an antique gold and outlined with Gold Stickles and dots of Christmas Red Stickles.
