Mad Tea Party 2012!

Hello, all! It's finally here! The 5th Annual 'A Fanciful Twist' Mad Tea Party! Click here to visit Vanessa at A Fanciful Twist, to see her magical tea party, and the long list of others who are participating with their own online tea parties!

This is my third time participating, and I can tell you that it's loads of fun. I love seeing all the creativity that everyone comes up with; not only with food, treats, and decorations, but also with stories, prizes, and crafts. I do hope you will enjoy yourself here and every other stop in this party hop!

Welcome to Scrap Vamp's Tea Party!

First thing first, let me introduce you to the guest's on my list.

The Queen of Hearts:

The Mad Hatter:

Here are the Queen and Hatter, with the Hatter being his silly self!

The White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat:

Here are the White Rabbit & Cheshire Cat with Alice!

An Un-Birthday Party Guest:

The Ace of Spades:

The March Hare:

A Pink Flamingo (taking a break from playing croquet):

And The Tweedles (Dee and Dum; don't know which is which):

Now that you have met everyone, let the party commence! Here we see the beautiful Alice peeking out from behind the table decorations!

With all the mounds of decorations and food, it's a wonder we can see anyone at all!

The hedgehog is hiding today, so that no one decides to use him as a croquet ball.

We have a lovely topiary cake that may be a bit askew, but it tastes wonderfully just the same! Inside the layers are chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry with creamy & sweet butter cream icing... Yum! Have a slice or maybe two, there's a lot to go around!

These little playing cards are standing in formation, ready for someone to snack on them.

Alice is busy readying a crown. Could it be a gift for the queen or one for herself? The Tres Leches Trifle near her sure looks delicious, and those sandwiches, too. Help yourself!

Have a cup of tea or two, along with all the treats, before you take your leave. I hope that you enjoyed your visit here and that you'll stop by some time to catch up!

Now for a little project that I created especially for this occasion!

I created this mini album using the Alice in Wonderland collection of stamps from Simply B Stamps. If you look carefully in the tea party pictures, you may spy these characters on the table here and there. This little book is up for grabs! Just become a follower, or let me know that you are already a follower, and leave a comment. I will use random.org to choose a winner on August 1st, which will give everyone enough time to stop by! Thank you for visiting!

Stalker Challenge and 12 Layouts of Alice #3

Hello, all! I've finally had a little time to sit down at my desk and scrap! And here are a few layouts I want to share with you for various challenges. This first page is for the Stalker Challenge over at Scraps of Darkness. The challenge is to scrap your favorite artist and I chose Katy Perry. She is ONE of my favorites because her songs are so much fun. It didn't hurt that this photo of her went perfectly with this month's Scraps of Darkness kit - Now and Zen! Lol!

Katy Perry Layout. I completed this page for the Stalker Challenge over at the Scraps of Darkness forum and this is the artist I chose. I find her songs fun to listen to. Everything on this, except for the Thickers title, liquid pearls, leaves, and Stickles are from the May Scraps of Darkness kit - Now and Zen. I went Mist Crazy with this one and used Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists in Alpine Ice Rose, Delphinium Turquoise, and Witch's Potion Purple. I also used Shimmerz paint in Wed Wagon. The purple flowers are form Petaloo and the purple crystal trim and the birds are from Prima. The leaves were cut out from cardstock from the kit, misted with Ranger Perfect Pearls green mist and had Stickles dots placed on them. This page is also for the Alternative Challenge over at scrapbook.com which had a twist of using paint.

Seafaring Layout. This page is for the Monochrome Challenge at scrapbook.com for Ruby Week this month. I chose this awesome paper from the DCWV paper pack - Nantucket. I used some flowers, brads, and Thickers that I have had in my stash for over 6 months. The photos are of the lighthouse in my home town and a pirate ship that docks near there.

Jabberwocky Layout. This page is for the Darker Side Challenge I host over at scrapbook.com. This month's theme is poetry and I used the Jabberwocky poem from Alice in Wonderland. This is also for my 12 Layouts of Alice and based on Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas 2010 Tag #3, the Monochrome Challenge Emerald Week, the ABC Challenge, and the Technique Challenge. The flowers are made of vellum using the Tim Holtz Tattered Roses die. The tree is cut out using my Cricut Expression and the October 31 cartridge. The moss is from a previous Scraps of Darkness kit.

Tea Time Tuesday - 2/2/2011

Hello, all! This blog organization stuff is definitely a work in progress because I only just remembered that I was supposed to post this! lol! Please forgive me if I happen to slip up in the future!

So all this talk about organization has made me think about the organization of my scraproom. I, like many other crafters, have a lot of stuff! And this stuff is everywhere and so much of it does not have a place to be put. So it has become a goal for me to organize my scraproom a little better so that I can find things I need and know what I have! And as many of you know, my scraproom has a Wonderland-y theme going on, so I started my scraproom organizing adventure by altering a couple of bookend drawers from Kaisercraft. Here are the before and after photos:

Here is one set of bookend drawers from Kaisercraft's Beyond the Page collection.

These are two of the bookend drawers set one on top of the other and altered to fit right in with my Wonderland-y theme. I painted the outer frame with black paint and covered the individual drawer boxes with some of my favorite papers. These are great to keep my smaller things in, such as the piercing heads for my new We R Memory Keepers stitch piercer.

One small step at a time and I will conquer this clutter. I hope this inspired you to get creative (and organized) and I will be back tomorrow with my first Whatever Wednesday!
