It's the 13 Days of Halloween! ~Day 12~

Hello, all! We're in the homestretch now! It's the twelfth day of the 13 Days of Halloween over at the Simply Betty Stamps Blog! The 13 Days of Halloween are an annual celebration at SBS throughout the month of October full of challenges, prizes, and surprises! So stop by and join in!

The twelfth challenge of the 13 Days of Halloween is to create a shaped Halloween card. Remember no squares or rectangles!Use your imagination and create some shaped cards that are totally creepy!

Check out the Simply B Stamps blog for all the fun details!

This is my project for this challenge:

I created this tombstone shaped card using my Cricut Expression and the Oct 31 cartridge. The image is Mr. Roberts from The Roberts Portraits collection created by Abigail Larson for Simply B Stamps. The image is colored with Copics. I used Distress Ink around the edges of the tombstone and Liquid Pearls to accent the edges and contours.

Stop by tomorrow for the final 13 Days of Halloween challenge!

13 Days of Halloween - Day 7!

Hello, all! It's Day 7 of the 13 Days of Halloween over at Simply Challenged Challenges!

Today's challenge is Grave Digger...create a Graveyard Scene!

To see other DT inspiration and participate in the challenge, please visit the SCC Blog.

This is the graveyard scene I created:

The Graveyard. I used several of the Sweet Gothic Kids images from Simply B Stamps - Franken Scott, Witchy Wednesday, and Vampiress Tilly. The structure for this is made of chipboard. I then covered the structure with some Moxxie papers I had in my stash. The tombstones were cut with my Cricut and the Oct. 31 cartridge, then inked with Peeled Paint and Black Soot Distress Inks. The pumpkins were cut out from a different sheet of Moxxie paper. The images were colored with Copics.

This was such a fun project for me! I hope you'll join in the challenge!

Mourning Glory - Smudgy Antics Challenge

Hello, all! I hope everyone had a lovely holiday with their family and friends. It's time for another Smudgy Antics Challenge. This week's challenge is "Mourning Glory."

Here is the challenge write up over at Smudgy Antics:

I hope everyone that celebrates it had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! We have another challenge for you this week and we can't wait to see what you come up with!

Here's a reminder about the rules:

*Each Monday morning a new challenge will be posted. It will contain that week's theme and prize information.

*To participate, you must make a project that fits the theme and add it to the post using the Inlinkz linky. Your link must take us directly to your project on a publicly accessible blog or website, or it will be disqualified - so please make sure you're linking to your actual post. It must be linked by midnight on the following Saturday, Pacific Time. This gives you six days to complete the challenge.

*Your project can be anything (card, scrapbook page, mixed media, altered or 3-D item, etc) as long as it is handmade and stamped somewhere with either a rubber or digital stamp. We have taken into consideration our digital artist fans and will be allowing all-digi projects. Feel free to think outside the box and have fun with your project! We are all about looking at things differently and look forward to the variety of projects and mediums we are sure to see.

*You may use any stamped image, however only projects using at least one Smeared Ink image will be eligible to win a prize. Encourage your crafty friends to come play with us!

*You can only enter and qualify for a prize if you are, or become, a follower of the blog. While you're at it, why not visit the forum as well for more challenges?

*The weekly winner will be chosen by random number and revealed on Sunday. Prizes will vary and may range from a free digi to a coupon to a blog badge.

So let's get to it! Here's this week's info.

The Challenge: Mourning Glory

(make a project using graves, churchyards, etc.)

Here is my DT example for this challenge:

Mourn 8 X 8 Layout. As some of you know already, I like visiting old cemeteries and taking photos of tombstones. This is another photo of mine for my cemetery album. I used papers from the DCWV Ghosts & Goblins paper pack. The skeletons stamp is from Smeared Ink. The flowers are from Prima. I added some Liquid Pearls in Cantaloupe on the alphas, which are Thickers and as dots on the flourishes.

I hope you all will join in on the challenge!

Day 29 (10) - 31 (12) Days of Halloween

Hello, all! It's Day 29 of the 31 Days of Halloween! Today I have a project for both Day 29 of the 31 Days of Halloween over at Smeared and Smudged and for Day 10 of the 12 Days of Halloween over at Simply Betty Stamps.

On the tenth day of Halloween...
...My true love gave to me
Ten ghouls a-groaning
Nine ghosts a-booing
Eight monsters shrieking
Seven pumpkins glowing
Six goblins gobbling
Five scary spooks!
Four skeletons
Three black cats
Two trick or treaters
And an owl in a rotten oak tree!

Ghouls Rule Card. I used my October Scraps of Darkness All Hallows Eve kit for this card. The tombstone paper is from Moxxie. The gravestones and tree are images I got from an old coloring book. The ghoul is from Simply Betty Stamps and the alphas are from Thickers.

Metal Mania and Scraps of Darkness

Hello, all! Today I have a challenge to share with you all. It's time for another Smudgy Antics Challenge and this week the topic is Metal Mania! Here is the description below:

Yay for a new weekly challenge! We're so excited to see some new players coming out of the woodworks, as well as our regular players; we hope you are enjoying the themes! Please feel free to pass on the info to anyone who you think would be interested in playing. All styles are welcome and as we always say, the more the merrier!

As always, here's a reminder about the rules:

*Each Monday morning a new challenge will be posted. It will contain that week's theme and prize information.

We are all about looking at things differently and look forward to the variety of projects and mediums we are sure to see.

*You must use AT LEAST 1 Smeared Ink image on your project. You are allowed to use anything else that you like.

*The weekly winner will be chosen by random number and revealed on Sunday. Prizes will vary and may range from a free digi to a coupon to a blog badge.

So let's get to it! Here's this week's info.

The Challenge:

METAL MANIA

This one is easy: Use metal in your project! It can be a piece of metal, a metal base, a metal color, or even Heavy Metal (for all you headbangers out there).

Here is my example:

Time Waits for No Man 8X8 Layout. I recently found an old stash of photos that I took in some cemeteries years ago. I find tombstones very beautiful and interesting... what can I say? So I decided I'd create an album just for them but I didn't want to do the regular 12X12 this time, so I am doing 8X8 and I find that I am loving the size. So here is my first page: I used a Smeared Ink Stamp (It's About Time Pocket Watch Digi) and colored it in with Copics. The papers are from the DCWV Tattered Time stack. I used some Prima flowers and Webster's Pages Bloomers. The gears are Tim Holtz and colored with Pitch Black Alcohol Ink and the title letters are Thickers.

If you'd like to see more examples and/or join in on this challenge, please stop by the Sumdgy Antics Blog!

And here is a little project using my Scraps of Darkness August Kit - Envy! This is for the Stalker Challenge over at the S.O.D. forum and this month the challenge was to create a card.

Live Brightly Card. This card was created completely using the Scraps of Darkness Envy Kit for August. I love the nature-inspired feel of these papers and wanted to create something that reminded me of the outdoors. I used a card sketch from The Color Room for this.
