Simply Challenged Challenge ~April ~ Anything Goes!

Hello, everyone! I hope you are all finding yourselves well. Me, I am venturing into new areas of the craft world. I finally took the plunge and became a vendor at a fair! I'll make sure to write a post all about it very soon. Now, on to business!

Today is the start of a new challenge over at SCC. So make sure to stop by and check out all the creations from the DT and the winners from the last challenge.

This month's challenge is Anything Goes and we girls at Simply Challenged Challenges used images from the 4th of July Betties for this.

Here is my card using BBQutie Betty.

I used some bright papers and a butterfly border punch to give this card a summer feel. What do you think? Did I pull it off?

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Simply Challenged Challenge ~Feb 10, 2014~

Hello, everyone! I hope you are having a lovely week! It's almost Valentine's Day! Have you got your V-Day projects and gifts ready yet? I have to work on the gifts for my children but I think I'm right on schedule. Lol.

Today I am sharing a card I made for the SCC challenge for Feb.

Ready for a new fun Challenge?

Challenge theme: Crop your SBS image, use only the face on your image.  Crop it down to a circle, a triangle, a square, any way you want to crop it but make the face the focus of the image.

So come on by and join in!

This is my Blue Valentine. I used Pandora Rio for this card, and as you can see I cropped the image into a circle to focus on her face. I used Copics to color the image and I used the DCWV paper stack called The Juniper Berry Stack. I used some Magnolia flowers from Petaloo and Bloomer Ribbon from Webster's Pages. I used some rose buds from Wild Orchid Crafts, and a border punch from We R Memory Keepers. I added some heart embellishments from my stash then accented everything with Liquid Pearls in Bisque.

Heart Break Miller SBS Showcase

Hello, all! It's my turn to showcase an SBS image from the Emo Valentines Collection today! I hope you've been stopping by the SCC Blog to check out everyone's creations!

This lovestruck young man is Heart Break Miller from the Emo Valentines Collection from Simply B Stamps. He's such a cutie. For this card, I used some Echo park Valentine papers, felt die cut hearts, doilies, a brad (with kissy lips), and a Martha Stewart hearts border punch. The image was colored with Copics.

Candy Hoggin London SBS Showcase

Hello, all! Can you believe we are into the third week of the new year already?! Time is really flying by lately!

Today I have a card to share with you. The focus of this card is Candy Hoggin London; a fantastic image from the Emo Valentine Collection from Simply B Stamps. All month long, the DT will be creating projects with the images from this collection, so make sure to stop by the blog often so you don't miss a thing!

This lovely lady laden with her Valentine's Day Candy is Candy Hoggin London. She must love sweets as much as I do. Lol. For this card, I used some candy patterned papers that I had in my stash. I really had a hard time photographing this as the paper was so light in color but I finally got a good shot. I used twine from Michael's Dollar Spot and a button I had in a jar. London is colored with Copics.

SCC Challenge! November 5 ~Fall Colors~

Hello, everyone! After a month of no challenges, here is the first November challenge at Simply Challenged Challenges! I don't know about where you live but here, it is just barely cooling off any. I am SO ready for fall! It's my favorite season and it just hasn't felt at all like the holidays are creeping up. I am hoping this challenge and some holiday creating will change all that! :)

Fall Colors Challenge
Colors: Spice, Turquoise, Cream. You must use these 3 colors in your project,
you may use other colors also ...
you MUST use an SBS image for a chance at the prize.

The DT will be using the Teen Scene Dragon Pet Collection.

Here is my creation for this challenge, using the image Christian and Spitfire.

I used an older DCWV stack that I had in my stash that fit the color scheme. Then matted the papers in black to make them pop a bit. I also added some Liquid Pearls to add a little shine.
Make sure to stop by the other DT and Guest DT blogs, to check out what they've created!

It's SCC Challenge Time! ~Create Your Own Background~

Hello, everyone! It's another SCC challenge! It's time to get creative! This challenge is all about creating your own background! No patterned paper!

Create your Own Background, no embossing folders or digi's
Use Stencils, ink, delusions spray, whatever you like, just make your own background.

This lovely lady is  April Showers Rio and Toots! She's ready for a lovely and fun rainy day!

For my background, I used some glossy paper, alcohol inks (sailboat, denim, silver metallic, and pool), and some glossy accents for rain drops. I like how the background looks like water falling on a window pane.

Come join in the fun over at SCC! And be sure to check out all the DT creations!

Simply Challenged! ~ July 30 Challenge ~ Heavy on the Embellishments!

Hello, everyone! Time for another fun challenge over at Simply Challenged Challenges! This challenge is all about the embellishments! We want to see lots and lots of flowers, bling, or anything else you can think of, on your creations!

I don't know about you but when I make cards, I don't use a lot of embellishments. On layouts, I don't really have that problem. I think because I view it the cardstock as such a large place to put embellishments and cards just look so small to me. (I'm working on it, though).

Here is my creation using Beauty Spa Rio from the Hollywood Teens Line from SBS!

Simply Challenged - February 26 - No Lines!

Hello, all! The February 26th Challenge for SCC is another fabulously fun one! The technique for this challenge is one I had never used before and I was amazed at how much fun it was to use! I really like the look it gives. I hope you will all want to participate and try this!

The challenge is to use "no lines" in your image. For those of you who use digis, all you have to do is convert the image into a lighter color when printing. For those of you who use stamps, all you have to do is stamp the image in a neutral color such as light gray or beige. The lines will then disappear as you color. Sounds fun, right?!

Here is the card I made using this technique:

Birthday Princess Rio!

Simply Challenged - Jan 15 - Glow!

Hi, everyone! It's time for another SCC challenge! And this one is such a fun one! The challenge is to create a glow effect on the image you use for your project! This is a technique I am not really familiar with but I can truthfully tell you that it was a whole lot of fun to play with.

Here is my Glow Challenge example:

This was a blast to do! Everyone has a different ways of coloring, not to mention different coloring materials. I use Copic markers but I know of ladies who use Promarkers and even som that use colored pencils. Now, I colored in with the lime greens first, so that I would know where the glow was going to be.I then colored the rest of the image like I normally would. Finally, I went over the parts that were supposed to glow with the greens again. I am really happy with the way this came out.

Supplies:
Bo Bunny Enchanted Collection Papers
Bo Bunny Enchanted Collection Chipboard Stickers
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
Peeled Paint Distress Ink
Lime Green Liquid Pearls
Copics
Shimmerz Hermit the Frog Mist

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to check out the SCC blog and the DT blogs to see all the awesome Glow projects created!

Simply Challenged Challenge - Nov 6 - Fall Colors

Hello, everyone! It's time for another Simply Challenged Challenge! The challenge frequency has been changed to every two weeks, to make it easier for everyone to participate. And I think you'll like the extra time you'll have to complete projects!

Now, on to the challenge. This challenge is to use Fall Colors! Use the Fall colors, olive green, mustard and orange, brown, red!

For more details, DT inspiration, and to participate; please visit the SCC Blog.

Here is what I created with the fall colors:

Give Thanks Card. This cute little girl image is Ali and Snuggles. I loved using fall colors for this. I really like the richness that they create together. The papers I used are from DCWV. I used olive green cardstock to mat everything, shape scissors to cut the edges of the striped paper, and buttercup liquid pearls.

Please come and join us at SCC to participate in the fall festivities!
